| |
| To become a participant of the Educational Talent Search Program the student must meet the following requirements: |
| |
- First Generation College Student. First generation college students are defined as those whose parents or legal guardians have not completed a Bachelor's degree.
- Low Income. Each year, the U.S. Department of Education publishes guidelines which define low income based on family size.

| The University of Louisiana at Lafayette Educational Talent Search Program is only available to individuals residing in the following regions of Louisiana: |
